Hmm.. is your butter too soft before beating? They have to be cold but not almost melting. Did the cake lack structure? Too soft or watery? Uncooked? If the top and base don't brown, then the temperature is too low for your oven. Try to increase it to 170C and be sure to preheat.

hi, i tried the recipe yesterday but it failed. the cake is too moist that it turned too soft. i have to bake for extra 10 mins but the base and the top doesnt brown as well. i'm also using the tabletop oven. what went wrong? could i be beating the ingredients for too long?

In reply to <a href="https://www.budgetpantry.com/strawberry-soya-milk-cake/#comment-2078">Ping</a>.

Hi Ping! You know what? I just baked a 9" today but I used blueberry instead of strawberries. I doubled everything and extended the baking time to 70 minutes at 155C. It turned out good, but I preferred the texture when it was baked in the loaf tin. It's to do with the baking time. Larger tin = deeper = longer baking time and harder to get right. Not exactly the same, but not bad!

Haha when I bake a loaf cake I really finish it by myself. Need a bigger cake for the family. If I use a 9" round pan, do I just double your recipe? Thanks for yet another interesting recipe :D
